I just got the ban and had to appeal for trying to move my account from Android to iOS without knowing you are supposed to use an app named "Move to iOS". I don't want to go through that again, especially seeing as WhatsApp only has AI support.

A friend asked me to help him turn off renewal on some of his GoDaddy domains this week. Wow, talk about dark patterns. This is the darkest of the dark. Thank god AI knew where to find the option. You still have to click cancel about 8 times on each domain.

I always used TOTP with Namecheap and I kept the keys on three separate devices (one a friend's) in two different apps. One day their site just stopped accepting any of my TOTP codes.

Thankfully (and scarily) they did the same as you -- they removed the 2FA for me via chat so I could log in and reset it :D

In the USA, at least, almost all criminal convictions end in a plea negotiation with the government. The criminal and the government go back and forth trying to work out a deal that is acceptable for both (shortest sentence for criminal, least work for the government). Having something the government (or a specific politian) wants can be used in your side of the negotiation.
