i tried i feel its pretty nice. it looks like a vibe-coded product. but for a gov website, it's pretty good. in china, most of the gov website looks like it's from the 90s, not-easy to use. it do work, but they dont have the urge to keep up.
It will need 10s - 100s of billions of investment. By the time they start producing, demand would have been permanently destroyed, thanks to China supplying the world with EVs and solar panels. With sufficient demand destruction, oil should be priced like salt, a simple commodity that nobody ever cares about the price.
Oil companies are not super keen on investing and increasing supply, it will destroy profits.
If it can be used somewhere in place of other oil, then they can send the compatible oil to the reserve. So is this what Trump means by US oil companies returning 1.25 barrels for each 1 they take? Doubt he's really thought it through.
It's sour crude that requires special infrastructure that our oil companies don't even want to bother investing in. They told Trump as much, he still kidnapped President Maduro, who is as far as I know, still in New York City.
There's already US infrastructure to process sour crude from Mexico. Who said this is a problem? When I search this, I see that Exxon's CEO called it uninvestible due to geopolitical risks, but Chevron claimed to be ready to go ahead.
You have your facts backward. The US refineries are famous for being some of the best in the world at refining sour crude. It is why so many countries ship their sour (and other difficult) crudes to the US for refining.
US refinery capacity is much larger than its world-leading oil production. Oil refining is a major export business for the US.
US is actually really good at processing that type of crude. Much better than the oil we drill domestically. Don't forget that US oil companies used to dominate Venezuela. In 1976, Venezuela bought out the companies and paid them what they claimed they were worth on their financial/tax ledgers. Ofc all the companies massively deflated their worth to avoid taxes so this angered them and they've never really stopped complaining about it.
Trump has basically enacted their revenge for that.
no, only the 'big rational ones', they think carefully.. that why Iran cannot have, and so as NK, but NK is a mistake because they(china,USA...) failed to prevent NK have it.
Its not only the us people. It also change the pro-us or pro-west people's view from countries like china.
Before Trump, people still believe USA is a great country even with so many flaws. Its still has a good reputation.Trump changed everything. He is not a bad leader, he has thoughts, but he cannot implement them with caution. And he destroyed USA's reputation, maybe forever.
Its hard to imaginy the greatest democracy' country, the president is manipulate the stock market, publicly, humiliating his friends country, or vaseel state. When the pro-USA people in china talks how great the USA is and China shoud learn from it, the comments is no longer agree anymore, most of them are mocking.and thats what the younger generation will grow up with, the mindset is: yes china is not perfect, but its way better than the shit countries like USA.
You can see the change in the numbers of graduates return to china after college, its used to be low, not its near or >90%.
It depends, first I ask myself if this didn't exist would I vibe code it myself, if I would, then is this good enough, might as well save my time and tokens on checking than building from scratch. Personal projects wise
More difficult to built, more difficult to get permission, ironically, and presumably the datacenters are planning to employ some people so they'll want to live at least somewhat nearby.
but since they have so many objection now. learn from china's approch? https://japantoday.com/category/tech/china-goes-rural-with-d... (from what i learned it should be build datacents far away -> attract people to work nearby, not the other way around)
even it cost more, but still better thant the current situation?
> build datacents far away -> attract people to work nearby
Probably not feasible if the remote area has no public services. You'd be wanting some people to move to an area without schools, shops, doctors, hospitals etc. I can imagine that appealing to nature lovers, but would they be wanting to work in a soul destroying hyperscale datacentre?
i dont know much about Scotland. maybe it's because in china unemplomynet is a huge thing, and if the job pays well, people would love to go. its like the gold rush in the USA, not the same profit level, but you can make money, it worth it, in these days(at least in china)
