I saw this on the steam page:

> our entirely in-house game engine PasVulkan, which powers SEEDS, as well as our RISC-V emulator PasRISCV, are both Free and Open Source Software (FOSS)

Can you link to PasVulkan and PasRISCV please?

I added a little information about PasRISCV here:

https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49939720

PasRISCV: https://github.com/BeRo1985/pasriscv

pasriscvemu: https://github.com/BeRo1985/pasriscvemu

PasVulkan: https://github.com/BeRo1985/pasvulkan

POCA https://github.com/BeRo1985/poca

BeRo of farbrausch is 1/3 of our team. :)

(edit) added a link to POCA, the scripting language, as it's relevant, too

There is an internal library at Microsoft that reliably avoids all these JWT problems - Microsoft Identity Service Essentials (MISE). Adopting MISE and upgrading to the latest versions of it have been part of the Secure Future Initiative (SFI) that can be read about in the news of previous years. Unfortunately it sounds like the service team intentionally deferred the compliance alerts they will have received.

There is so much work to do for SFI that is still being ignored. The only way that some of these services will update is by being the target of the red team, security researcher, or threat actor.

And all of that is definitely happening.

That being said, just last night I observed that the identity team is now opening up agent-assisted PRs against individual service team repos to force MISE adoption and upgrade to the latest version and best practices. I think that's a great thing because many individual service teams simply lack the bandwidth or knowledge. Prior to GenAI availability I wasted many cycles on this kind of work. While GenAI made it easier - internal source documentation still does not unambiguously address every use case. So having the identity team drive this now with the help of agent sessions initiated by them is great.

I find Qwen 3.8 better at coding but I also use Gemma 4 31B. I toggle between them in Ollama.

And here I was surprised they would use NATS in their implementation to assign squawk codes.

I met her once in the Bay Area on BART as she was going from the airport to Berkeley to give a lecture (I admit I did not know who she was at the time). We had a nice 1 hour conversation. She's incredibly smart and humble.

Agreed. And this tech demo was a day 1 purchase for me back in the day. While it has gotten better since then it just doesn't hold my interest. I do like using it whenever every few months I feel inclined to get my PC VR headset out (I'm using an old HO Reverb G2 with the Oasis driver) I think it's a great VR title.

As a fellow Ballard home owner I have to say that anyone who thinks Ballard is affordable to buy in is out of touch with reality.

Isn't it a requirement to be out of touch with reality to live in Ballard?

I would love such a model. My wife's family is Iu Mien which is a sub group of the Dao/Yao Chinese ethnic minority. Mien is its own language but most speakers are essentially illiterate. I'm good with language but there simply isn't a course or any books for learning the language. Not much in writing to begin with given the high illiteracy rate. I would love to build a translation system - project Hail Mary style :)

FWIW someone wrote their PhD thesis on the Iu Mien language: https://opal.latrobe.edu.au/articles/thesis/An_Iu_Mien_gramm... It's not a textbook, but that doesn't mean you can't try to use it as a textbook. For example, there are some thoroughly-analyzed example texts. Also, the acknowledgments section mentions the Iu Mien Literacy Project, which has published a short course on the very basics, as it turns out: https://iumienliteracyprojects.com/resources/ I suspect the 925-page PDF contains some more hints to additional resources like that. :)

Unfortunately there are two sub groups of Iu Mien with somewhat different vocabulary as well - and my wife is from the other group. I had found this pdf document previously - thanks for the pointer! I'll see what I can do with it.
