Google still has to build and run the chips they rent to Anthropic. I think from their last earnings Google makes ~30% on it, excluding R&D costs. It's a nice business for them, but hardly the thing that is going to make or break Anthropic as a business.
Industry newspaper writes news about industry. Who do you expect us going to write about this, Knitting Monthly?
If mainstream news sources do pick up this story, they'll likely cite this article as the source. That's how journalism works. It's not all investigative journalism blowing the lids off of things. They start with knowledge sources. They check the sources against independent ones before publishing, so that they're not just repeating propaganda, but they also tell you where the information came from initially. They may add context from their own knowledge, but the actual news rarely originates with them.
So the giraffe kinda moves like a knight that can't jump. It takes a mandatory diagonal, then must move at least three more squares. But then it can move any number of squares in that direction after those three.
Okay, so not really like a knight at all.
Wait until you find out about the cannon in Chinese chess. It's like a rook that not only can jump one piece, but must.
The Tamerlane picket works like the chinese cannon piece and so does the war engine. They both have to jump over the piece in the direction of their movement before being able to deal damage. I think the Chinese canon might be based on the picket + war engine. Timur did have aspirations to invade the Ming Dynasty after all
Discussion seems to agree it doesn't work. What works is calling 911 (or local emergency number), which gets help and instruction over the phone from experts in the latest. I've been doing CPR classes every few years for 30 years - a lot has changed over that time (but not once did I hear this for CPR - shock yes, but not heart problems), but they still teach CPR over the phone to surprisingly good results.
