I was wondering about the same and found this video very helpful. It may not be truly ELI5, but close enough: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tTnUcSj-QPA

Totally! So unnecessary and annoying.

Vibe coders rejoice! Vibe coding is even easier now =)

Jokes aside, this is a smart move by Cursor. As you can probably tell by the comments here, it's not for the experienced developers, but it will be a natural choice for vibe coders.

I wish they would improve their iOS app. It does leave a bit to be desired.

FYI Fastmail works really well with the iOS native Mail/Calendar app if you wanted to try that out. iOS is pretty much the only platform I don't use the Fastmail app on.

The point still stands, but in what world can you build a 50TB NAS for $1,000 these days? I want to go there

nairboon · 2026-08-13T15:31:28 1786635088

$1000 is for the NAS, they still need to populate it with a couple of drives.

Yeah I bought a five bay Synology NAS two or three years ago I think it and three 18TB WD Red drives total cost $3,000CAD? I was going to save up for two more drives. Now each drive is $1,000 CAD a 150% jump. edit: I checked $1,350 each so about 250% jump ugh!

Yeah, sounds like a clickbait. Did you notice the paid sign up at the bottom? I guess we will never find out...
