Mean sure, but doing just that misses the learning and specific attention part. Going from "bird" to species, learning about morphological, vocal differences is going beyond "being a little more active and interested in your surroundings". It's really engaging every sensory and cognitive system in concert.
That said, collecting plants or beetles is probably equally beneficial. Geocaching comes to mind too.
Although, I wonder if looking up may contribute, given old people tend deform and bend forward with age. Could affect blood or lymphatic circulation.
The few groups I'm in, local wildlife and pet bird groups, mainly consist of people asking questions that need to and are usually answered by posting links to local resources or regulations.
That group will have it's own llama agent to read all those links and tell the members the exact answers to their question so they don't have to leave the safe zone of facebook and go off into the scary internet.
Yep, it will basically mean the death of Facebook. I don’t use it much, but the groups I’m in are for sharing local events (usually link to library page, map for meetup location, etc). Without links, those groups go away.
Reading would probably help the most. Read some classics, don't worry too much about the plot beforehand, dive in. Gives a ton of new ways to look at the world.
As a vibe test, I tried some system prompting in DSv4 Flash to the effect of ~"Always do your internal thinking in Chinese, and always respond to the user in English" (but translated to Mandarin).
Subjectively it seemed to reason faster and better, but sometimes it would indeed output responses in Mandarin nonetheless; so I didn't pursue it further.
Eve online holdem? Amazing. Was a banker there for a bit while I was working as a poker dealer IRL at night. Won a fully fitted mom in a game, lost it in another:D
The corvids looking back wondering what you're doing and they'll communicate back too.
I think becoming a person who would stop and do that, or go birdwatch in general, is probably the important part.
