Have you tried opening a big excel file in it? It's actually more pleasant than doing so in Excel (because it's a lot faster than Excel, even on very fast systems. And just that makes it great for financial applications, you know, abusing Excel as a database)
If it's AI ... the whole point this version of AI was invented was translation. That's what transformers are for. So why don't they build versions of the apps and pages in every language under the sun from Aztec to Zaparo, from Hieroglyphics to Cuneiform?
They're quite usable, certainly beating MS Works at this time. They're also arguably better code somehow (e.g. startup time is very low, and unlike in MS Office I've never seen the UI lock up on a big document, everything is very responsive and very fast). Opened very complicated excel docs of mine and it looked fine, and frankly it was more enjoyable than MS Office to work with. Saving it and opening back in Excel was also just fine.
They've also eliminated what I use Google docs for: paste some shit into docs and save as pdf, it's much, much faster at that than Google docs.
I've written a script that deploys the wasm versions on kubernetes and makes an index page to allow to start them quickly so you can try. There's an update script that runs regularly too.
2) don't put it on a timer. What's most damning, in my opinion, is that this is the very definition of a bait-and-switch. Any rational person thinks this won't apply to their existing phone because it came before the rollout, right? It's only android 15 and onward? No. That's wrong, it'll apply to YOUR phone. Google. Non-Google. Doesn't matter. Android 12, 13, 14? Nope applies to them all. That's just an accident then?
And you are expecting countries to play by the rules when their existence in under threat. The EU will get people off Google, off Facebook, off fucking Pinterest even if it means moving back to Teletext.
Idk who you’re talking to or what you’re talking about.
I certainly don’t “expect” (in the normative sense) countries to continue relying on these services. Breaking network effects is hard, but I wouldn’t blame a country for trying and I’d probably be happy with them succeeding (to the extent they facilitate free expression of their people).
Of course, the huge difference is that China also actually invests in replacing them with something. EU doesn't and only France has given it the least of efforts.
But that won't stop EU countries from just outlawing these services.
Why does everyone always give governments absurd credit when they do stuff like this? One of the ministers explicitly said the numerus clausus stays implemented because it limits both health care itself and the cost of medicine that's prescribed.
Given how hard doctors are expected to work in hospitals I'm pretty damn sure that a vote in "the order" (yeah it's called the order) for increasing the number of doctors, the numerus clausus even 50% or even 100% would pass with overwhelming support by everyone except the minister.
Triage doctor? Fancy. In France we're talking nurse or even "volunteer" (ie. those med students everyone hates on, I hear there are actual volunteers too but I've mostly seen students) that do triage.
In the USA, I think most of the times it is a specially trained triage nurse (Usually an RN with additional special training), not an doctor, and not a random volunteer or medical student.
That's just not accurate. What people care most about is not losing what they already have. That will cause extreme reactions.
