It wasn’t just the LLM language, the sections “The corpus” and “What the data supports” were disjointed and unconvincing. Likely due to lack of human wrangling. Unfortunately they were the core of the analysis.
Well done on getting that far. I noped out after the first sentence, and kicked myself for not realising it just based on the title.
EDIT: oh, hang on, I read some other comments, and it turns out there's an AI disclaimer - and, now I check again, it's true! There is! Well, fair enough then, but I think this disclaimer should come literally right at the start
The article does state clearly first that it was first drafted with AI, I appreciate the author's honesty. I wish all AI-assisted articles would do the same.
I largely agree with this take. Unfortunately I think capitalism's political pressures have too much of a grip on society for there to be meaningful changes to the power dynamics that perpetuate the status quo.
I can't vote in America. The rest of the world is at the mercy of those within America that can as long as we're dependant on American products and services.
That's true, but you can support and encourage policy that would reduce your country's dependence on the US, especially when it does so by supporting local products and services. Not only would that be good for your local economy, but you gain resilience and security.
You can work to limit your own dependence a little as well. Seek out FOSS products and alternative services and replace what US run services you can as often as you can with them. Reject small conveniences that require giving large amounts of your data to US companies.
Yeah that can't be right, my M5 Max gets almost those speeds and certainly lot faster than what they're claiming the M3 ultra gets. Maybe they didn't have the model setup right or were running it with some unnecessarily high quant (>=8bit).
Considering how far backwards Google has gone since the release of the 3.x models, the brain drain they've let happen, the lacklustre software ecosystem and their track record with product management ... I would say they're more likely to drop trying to compete at the frontier and try to focus on something else instead.
