I love iconic minimal lamps too. I never saw the Lampe de Bureau nor the Kismas Lamp 01, love them! You might like the Muuto Post.

I'll note that many of the glass blocks they use are available all over, for a few dollars. I bought a few Doric glass blocks, stuck some diffused LED strips below them, and printed a stand/enclosure, all for under $15. Good gift for friends.

I know this is like saying "I could do what Jackson Pollock does if I just threw some paint around"...but I can't really shake the feeling that that Muuto Post looks like something out of my dorm room but for 1255 dollars.

I guess the modularity (you can purchase more lights) is a real feature though?

Maybe they'll steganographically encode data into speech/movement patterns of their human operators.

Perhaps because her goal wasn't to become a better writer, but because she wanted to get her view out there?

> The crash and the slowness turned out to be unrelated. The crash is the short story; the slowness is the one worth writing down.

And that's not slop, it's the real smoking load bearing foot gun.

The bot snippets talk claudish. I'd say Opus 5. But they must be Cyber Verification Program approved by Anthropic I suppose for the LLM not to block them.

The Chinese models talk Claudlish too

Hate to burst your bubble but wasn't Claude......

Chinese Claude distillation.

The missing seam was a smoking footgun

It does take the idea further by anchoring the design system in real world objects.

so, skeuomorphic

I remember they found remnants of a 10k yr old ritual ground that matches the ritual in the oral tradition.

Found it https://www.nature.com/articles/s41562-024-01912-w

There is also a legend of incestuous royals connected to the Boyne valley tombs in Ireland, written down in the 12th century. DNA examination of a person buried in the tombs found that his parents were indeed very closely related. This suggests almost 5000 years of oral tradition, even surviving a fairly big cultural replacement event.

If that can happen, it's not so surprising a story can last 20-30000 years either - especially not if there's not much else making a similar impression to tell stories about.

> setting clear rules on time with kids (weekday dinners, weekends prioritize family) and

Are these examples or an exhaustive list? Eating dinner during the week is.. not a lot. So I assume it's about setting time limits for these activities?

Great Scott, I think we just hit someone!
