can you please list some of the people you worked with? I really appreciate good design and am always looking for great artists that I don’t know about yet, thanks.

Pentagram and DDO.

Kinda pricey, though.

Going through pentagram's site, their shakespeare in the park posters do give me that AI vibe. Perhaps AI has been trained in many such similar posters, but as a layman, I'd be hard pressed to be able to distinguish these from AI generated ones.

On a side note, I wanted to link that collection here, but unfortunately there's no hyperlink, it just opens in a popup. You'll have to scroll down to the bottom of their home page to find it. I hope for their sake they just overlooked this one thing, because if designers don't see the role of hyperlinks in user experience, I can't take them seriously.

Pentagram is an interesting company. We worked with them around fifteen or twenty years ago, so it’s likely a lot has changed, since then.

They had a structure, where each studio was run by a partner, and had its own specialty. Almost a separate company.

We worked with the San Francisco one, which specialized in digital design (looks like it’s no longer around, or transitioned to an independent company). We used them for graphic design. We used DDO (they are still around[0]), for interaction design (we worked with both, simultaneously). It was quite an experience, and taught me a great deal about integration of professional designers, into a technical project. I still use a lot of what I learned, to this day.

They had that “AI vibe,” back then, so I guess we know where the LLMs got some of their training materials.

Their Web sites have always been like that. I’m assuming that part of the reason, is to discourage scraping, and another, is to be fairly pretentious. There was quite a bit of showmanship, back then, and I have no reason to think that it’s any less, these days. They are certainly not alone. New York is filled with studios like that. I know a chap that designs top-end jewelry, and is almost a caricature. On any given day, his outfits cost more than my car. It seems to work. He makes a lot of money, so someone takes him seriously.

DDO website is refreshingly clean. Very reminiscent of early 2000's era, it just gets out of your way inviting you to browse through all the content. I wish more websites retained such functional design. The amount of visual stimulus thrown at you these days can be quite overbearing. While I just glanced through pentagram's site, I found myself spending a lot of time going through DDO's pages. They seem to have some really solid articles too. Thanks for sharing!

Hugh Dubberly is a pretty impressive chap. It was a privilege to work with him.

Maybe I missed it but I actively looked for anyone’s insight into the “pace the frontier” along the lines of: “we’ve hit a ceiling, so don’t expect innovations soon”. Or an excuse for having other things more important to attend..

Fear is much more powerful than any other feeling, so setting that in will definitely prepare for a good rug pull in the IPO.

As for being dangerous, a computer can be dangerous if plugged in, it may be too late to pull the plug at some point yes, but that all seems like provocation.

Plausible?

People have been floating this theory every time a slowdown is called for ever since GPT-2. Every time it turns out that we had not hit the ceiling. I'm sure one day we will but it's just not a reasonable position, in my opinion.

I can't scroll through this site on Firefox and a recent mac, anyone else?

I had a dark mode extension slowing things down. Then I got annoyed with the site performance and enabled 'reader' view

what do you do while agents work?

Meetings, research, look over work done etc.

Run more agents!

trees can be considered intelligent, trees show complex adaptive behavior that can reasonably be called a basic form of intelligence, but not a human-like intelligence,

I do get your point though and can see what you're trying to say, it is interesting indeed. There is however a detail that seems important to me, who is the driver? There is no agency is there? So its just fishing for data, so its a different type, just like trees are from us. I see them more like a very compressed "book of everything" that you can spin in "infinite" ways to get your desired outcomes. So yeah, definitely not alive, intelligent? Not like our intelligence.

if you want to discover new music, have a look at nts.live

your experience is not applicable to others, thanks for your feedback and we appreciate it. Lots of people understand that nature is a part of life just like you are and live accordingly.

I 100% agree with this, and I fully support people who want to live their lives however they want to. I have no delusions that my preferences are universal.

I just want others to accept the same about me and my preferences.

Any ideas where Basque may fit in?

Basque is not an Indo-European language:)

It's believed that basque is a remnant of earlier people before agriculture and indo europeans arrived.

There's a weird number of shared words between Basque and old Armenian, also names of places. But I've only seen random articles trying to link the two, not real scientific papers.

Hi! why a port and not contribution to the original project? What were the reasons? Will this be 100% compatible in the future? Thanks!!

SuperSonic started life as an experiment side project and was the first successful AudioWorklet port of scsynth. When I got it working I shared it with the SuperCollider community with the hope that some form of contribution collaboration might happen but there didn’t seem to be much interest - and mostly friction possibly due to the fact that I had made use of LLMs to navigate and study the original code base. They then built their own audioworklet version which they merged into mainline. That was a signal for me to continue independently which I did - subsequently adding native and embedded targets to SuperSonic.

Sonic Pi uses the native version which includes substantial improvements specifically for the use case for Sonic Pi (schools and beginner ergonomics) vs pro audio workflows.

Also I definitely intend to keep things compatible where feasible and have already done this since November 2025.
