These podcasters (who I quite like but may be an acquired taste) call him out on how little he pushes back or does basic fact checking:

There is still anecdata that Google "knows" you are the same person and will ban all accounts associated with you if you do something they don't like. And of course they never need to explain themselves or listen to your appeal.

Seriously. That's such a fuzzy number. Why not just say X yen? None of us have a crystal ball to tell us if our investments will make the traditional 8% interest or not.

You keep quoting prices that make no sense in 2026 such as cars under 20k. See https://www.theautopian.com/americas-cheapest-new-car-now-co...

Please link to some prices for motorcycles that can go 75 miles per hour (necessary on the highway) that cost < $1k. 5 seconds of googling says they start at around $5k. I have a moto so I agree with the premise broadly that more should consider them. They are not as useful in all weather and of course there is risk of injury which most poor people will have no ability to pay for in our US health care situation...

You are right (and other comments). I still have last years info when there were a few models available for under 20K. I guess with inflation, the cheapest 2026 cars seem to be 22K-ish. Some 2025 models are available for ~19K, but they won't last long.

I don't agree with much of the above but I do agree that we should endeavor to minimize error notifications and the like because people don't read them. We (as programmers) should endeavor to make things "self-heal" or work in such a way that most people don't have these kinds of notifications interrupt them. E.g. if "error X" happens a lot find a way to make the action that causes "error X" work without an error. Easier said than done though.

As an aside I really like video games that have a running log of everything characters have said. Persona 5 does this. It's a rare feature from my experience!

Where exactly are they planning to build this? See https://environment.yale.edu/news/article/louisianas-shrinki.... Ah, Vermilion Parish which is ~160 miles east of New Orleans...

100%. Ann Trason often was first overall in ultras: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ann_Trason. I think it may be that over extremely long endurance events, having more muscle mass goes from being an advantage to a disadvantage. These sorts of seat mounted mud guards would work: https://ass-savers.com/ (yes, the URL is funny and seems a risky click)

100%. A few relevant articles: https://www.openhealthpolicy.com/p/medical-residency-slots-c... and https://www.openhealthpolicy.com/p/best-of-open-health-congr...

A snippet:

> CMS residency funding was capped beginning in 1997 at 1996 levels, and has only been raised once since then in Section 126 of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021. From 1987 to 1997 the number of residents grew by 20.6%, while from 1997 to 2007 the growth in residencies was only 8%. The 2021 law attempts to address several issues by slowly increasing residencies in specific underserved situations such as rural areas. This officially just began with 200 new residencies nationwide this year, climbing to 1,000 additional residencies per year in five years. It is only a drop in the bucket compared to the 140,000 resident doctors in the US in 2020, the majority of whom were federally funded. Using a rough estimate from Census population data for 2000 and 2020, there are at least 50 million, or 18%, more people in the nation today than when the law was passed, making the current change a rather small effort.

> This growth in population without a corresponding growth in the doctors we train each year leads to higher salaries for doctors and higher costs for patients. More people are demanding the time of a similar number of doctors, driving up the price of doctor’s time, even before accounting for the US’ aging population.
