Is this a durable object? /s

what a coincidence, i thought we were going to slow down training (amodei, altman et al.)

Could you include some screenshots in the README of the functionalities? that would go a long way! thank you in advance!

Yeah GitHub repos need screenshots.

Just have Codex or whatever take the screenshots and post them to the repo. Easy peasy.

it is more efficient to prompt the meat proxy

Yep, you're right. I spent way too much time on the setup/deployment side and somehow skipped the obvious part. I'll get some screenshots into the README.

Thanks for making this - like others commenting here, working on something similar, but more for personal email workflow rather than a product. I'd definitely like to give it a spin - the screenshots (ahem video) would be great.

the Google DeepMind PR team can't catch a break, shame it makes no sense to me - if someone's in the field maybe they could explain to the rest of us if this is a big deal, just a PR move, or nah?

Just wait a few months, if it is a big deal that will likely be obvious by then

i like this way of thinking ;)

Does lots of good to my anxiety level :)

What are you even talking about? What do you mean catch a break? They’ve made massive contributions over the last decade.

I think orliesaurus meant the PR team is unable to rest because the rest of Deepmind is so prolific and keep coming out with new things for them to announce

I don’t think so. The tone of the comment seems derogatory.

No, it's exactly what @dronebetter said

This is exactly what I meant!

I just have a feeling the developer-experience wouldn't be the same - but that's just a temporary issue perhaps?

glad im not the only one that enabled screen reader mode to scan the article for some goodies

Qwen 3.8 27B is an exceptional model for coding and ranks as one of the best local models for coding....BUT in my head I am confused why a company that's IPO'd doesn't invest in RL'd super specialized, super-damn-fast models for very specific tasks - instead of giving us the OSS GPT model from what feels like 200 years ago

almost of their business is hosting Sol ultra fast or whatever for OpenAI to use internally

Especially since they still serve Codex-Spark, which is dogshit.

I posted about my friend Igor who had a similar experience on my LI [1] - from a few hundred to $3000+ a month - and a lot of people reacted saying you could simply vibe-code an alternative in hours and save thousands of dollars.

it does seem like either people drank the kool-aid on vibecoding...or it's actually really possible that shitty software that we once relied upon can now be vibed into existence in hours at most.

I used to write that software - the answer is that most of it can be vibe coded in a day now.

hope you're happier now than then!

ai bots on hn? naaaaa.....

Offtopic but not really: does anyone know the minimal fix on how to remove the animation between changing "desktops" in Mac OS? I want it to be instant, no slide animation. Please and Thank you

This works well- you can swipe using touchpad; or use ctrl + arrow keys- free and open-source

https://space-rabbit.app/

This setup switches instant. But on default MacOS I think the only thing similar is Accessibility > Display > Reduce Motion. But I think it doesnt remove it just makes it shorter. I am not aware of any other way.

i have this installed and its amazing! https://github.com/jurplel/InstantSpaceSwitcher

this is the way! I even configured it with a combo on my ZSA voyager and now it's just there! Also changed default keys for switching desktop (i believe i disabled it) and have InstantSpaceSwitcher take over, which means my logitech mouse can do the instant switch too; so so happy using this, wish alt tab could use it too.

perfect. you made my day! thank you kind HN user!

The solutions I've read about all do a simulated super-fast swipe
