there's still so many things to invent before this moves out of fiction... radiation, cooling, communication, costs ...

Nobody wonders why the hell a coffee machine needs to DOWNLOAD 10GB as well? I know, the upload looks bad and all, but why does nobody talks about this?

storage and memory has simply gone up over 100% in the last year. nothing Amazon specific here

> with the ongoing push towards gigantic SUVs

this is not a global thing.

Perhaps not "global", but it sure seems to be pretty much the entire Western world by now. The US was the first to lose its sedans, but over here in Europe the cars are rapidly expanding as well.

Personally would never buy an SUV. Don't think I'm the only one even if that market still has some room to grow.

> a huge amount of cables can be replaced by usb-c cables + an adapter.

And now you have a bunch of boxes with adapters ;P

worse when you pay 100k+ for a watch you can only use to ... read the time (the patek watches that were mentioned earlier for example)

you are allowed to criticize apple as much as you like. The response was on your 'really? 800 for a watch' remark.

watches that go for 100k or more are not uncommon

Yes but these watches are hand made from clock makers and a homage to real craftmanship done mostly by human hands, well paid, well educated.

And these companies are old, they were leading in chainging the world.

Apple let them build in china from students and others for very little money with very high margin.

Rolex for example is a foundation.

> Rolex for example is a foundation

This is not true. rolex is a for-profit organization. The owner is a foundation, but they did not make rolex a non-profit.

And then you find out the main character is simply doing what the NPC's tell her/him to do. The idea that the main character chooses what they want is an illusion. They are just following the script that is steered by what the NPC's make them do.

I'm not talking about life, I'm talking about video games here.

Not the OP, nor the quote from Ronin state that one should always sit

I do not mean literally sitting. The article encourages complacency (metaphorically sitting around all day) which I disagree with.

"All day" and "always" are your words, not mine, and not those of the article's author.

I'm not quoting the author's words but their mentality, which is clear to see in their post.

You can't quote a mentality, and you're not a mind-reader. You're putting words in the author's mouth, and then arguing against them. Saying it's "clear to see" is just asking others to find your evidence for you.

It's just someone drawing conclusions based on what the author chose to write, which is common and fine.

Drawing conclusions is fine, if they're traceable to something on the page. This one started with "always" and "all day," which aren't in the post, and when that was pointed out it moved to the author's mentality. I can assign anyone any mentality I want, and it's impossible to prove me wrong.

No, they are my conclusions of what they said, which I have assumed is clear to see for others too. You are the one taking this simple interaction way too literally.

Reading someone's words as written isn't being "too literal". With a blog post, as with this thread, it's actually the only thing there is to go on.

You're not understanding metaphor and I'm not sure at this point in the comment thread I could explain it to you either.

could ask claude to do that ;P
