Although this may not apply to many, Iosevka is one of the few monospace fonts with excellent support for polytonic Greek.

Cal Newport lays out a pretty good criticism of these types of offices in Deep Work.

This is super cool. I'd love to see it in a vintage style like that of old T-O maps!

Would the CLA makes it easier to move away from Google and transfer the ownership to a new organization (if Google is willing)?

Doesn’t really change it at all. Because there’s no copyright assignment, it’s not any different than any other open source project that doesn’t do it, there’s no ownership to actually move. It would just be about socially what is considered upstream.

> Very interesting change. I’ve yet to see CSS more than 20 levels deep. Good to put a stop to such insanity.

I wonder what made them attempt to support such deep nesting in the first place.

Always possible there’s some buggy CSS compiler in the wild that ships a crazy rule and nobody tested in Firefox.

For people who use the phone for everything, this is great. But I hope we will start to see at least some smaller options return to the market for those who just want a simple communication device / have small hands.

I recently booted up an old Samsung S10, and the size is just chef's kiss.

> I’d pick Edge, if I had to pick either, after this experience

Doesn't Edge have the same problem?

It's probably because, unfortunately, anthropologists don't play much.

For those who use Emacs on macOS, I highly recommend upgrading to 31.1 ASAP since several memory leaks have been fixed by Przemysław Alexander Kamiński [1] et al.

Well, once MacPorts (https://ports.macports.org/port/emacs) has it!

So many choices! Emacs-plus from brew, Macports and https://emacsformacosx.com, I wonder how they differ from one another.

As someone who wants vanilla experience, should I get from emacsformacosx.com?

In my experience, you want "emacs-app", which is just upstream emacs compiled with Aqua support (https://github.com/macports/macports-ports/blob/81b99bcf7c59...) to avoid going through XQuartz.

Agreed! I've been building from source for now, and I can't wait to return to the MacPorts version as soon as it is available.

i usually get my emacs from https://emacsformacos.com/ but it seems to be stuck on version 30.2 :(

30.2 is the currect release, but I expect that it will be updated shortly after Emacs 31.1 is officially released. If you're _really_ impatient, it seems that there are nightly builds here: <https://emacsformacos.com/builds>.
