For people building something with the intention of eventually making it a business: what was the strongest evidence that the problem was worth pursuing before you started building? I'm especially interested in cases where the initial idea changed substantially after talking to users.
Whenever an OS intentionally departs from POSIX, I'm curious which compatibility tradeoffs end up paying for themselves long-term. Which POSIX assumptions were responsible for the most architectural complexity, and have there been any surprising regressions from abandoning them? It'd also be interesting to know whether the new abstractions enabled capabilities that simply weren't practical under POSIX.
