Works fine for me ("test" returned 5 pages). But try https://ya.ru too, for example.

I cannot get it to return anything more than 10 results. Might be a design choice. Possibly for mobile. It’s certainly cleaner than the American options that way.

Yandex cloud is not as big as AWS.

First of all AWS (even in us-*) most likely have non-US services\data. Yandex is mostly used by russian companies.

Plus, from my personal experience cloud is not as popular in Russia as in the west.

Big players like Sber, Ozon, T-Bank etc have their own datacenters and [may] use Yandex (or cloud.ru for example) for redundancy and\or non-critical services.

Small players use vps or something similar.

Big non-tech players (gas&oil for example) often rent redicated servers or space in a rack for their own hardware.

At least in the West, “space in a rack” is still small business territory, both because of scale as well as security concerns.

Big players that don’t have their own datacenters - which includes many tech players - rent private wire cages full of racks, or else “suites” - essentially private rooms. But they’re not typically using companies like Yandex. They use enterprise datacenter providers like Equinix, that require enterprise commitments, and don’t sell to individuals.

Hopuflly you do realise you sound exactly like your opponent but with a different polarity.

Well, many people buy books for home library and read them only at home.

So when you are buying a good hardcover you get something that will last and you only read at behind the desk, "as it should be done".

Paperback is only good if you are going to use it to start a fire later on.

That being said I'm coming from a place where (in my youth) paperbacks where only for technical literature and pulp fiction.

> There’s not much to algorithms: do this, then do that.

Yeah, and how many of drivers or software engineers can fix their car's engine? Just a few. Even though in priciple there's not much to it.

It’s a joke…

Neither do Yandex bots. What's your point?

If official yandex bots ain't included in this data here - then it means spam/scam bots come indeed from yandex servers. As they stopped working, when the yandex data center was hit.

But what do you mean by "if"? It is a well defined metric and there is no "if".

I'll just link this comment if I may: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=50042416

Thank you, I missed that one (or it was not there when I started writing).

So yandex bots are included and this metric says nothing about malicious yandex intent here.

Well, right now only 65% support this, even when reported by Russian Public Opinion Research Center (state owned):

https://wciom.ru/analytical-reviews/analiticheskii-obzor/spe...

So, most russians have already turned on ukraine. q.e.d.

65% reported by the state agency (in Russia) means the real number is quite lower.

>banking back ends

As someone who works in a bank: depending on the exacty subsystem of a bank the answer is from "already" to "in 3-5 years".

Making predictions for in 5 years with the current dynamic of the ecosystem seems rather speculative

Oh, that's a good one.

Reminds me of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUSoR4EdyIo (Ayreon - Everybody Dies)

Cecilia looks like an average residential area in Russia.
