Spotify has (had? I no longer use it) a feature that would allow you to make local media available as part of your library anywhere so long as your machine was on and connected to the internet. I would imagine that feature requires disk access under these sandbox / permission models.
Edit: I should say, the model it was created with (select a folder, all media in that folder is mirrored) requires such permissions. One could imagine designs that don’t.
Nitter instances are a scarce resource provided by the community, and they want to make sure they're available for actual users and not bogged down by AI scrapers looping through URLs. Not sure why that would be amusing particularly since Anubis doesn't require any kind of account...
Anubis at low difficulty isn't a roadblock to humans and it doesn't affect anonymity at all. Seems reasonable to me. Their mission isn't to help with mass requests.
They’re likely referring to his post / thoughts on the bun rust rewrite and specifically those he shared about the lead developer of the bun project and the bun project at large.
I would not characterize what he shared as vitriolic, but from the comments when the post was submitted one would get the impression that is not a majority opinion here.
