What an interesting way to phrase things when the US is responsible for much more suffering and unrest outside of it's own borders. Including the current situation in Russia, come to think of it.
> It's absurd that I cannot pay cashless without using American companies
The infrastructure for it exists with instant SEPA transfers, and Wero is slowly developing into a useful system for retail payments, but without the EU mandating that banks and retailers must support it alongside Visa it will take a while for meaningful penetration to happen.
Yeah, it's good that it is progressing. But my hopes are really on the digital Euro. I hope the EU doesn't fall for the lobbying against it by the (Wero) banks.
It's more low key than America but they set up secret police stations to keep an eye on Chinese communities all over the world. Officially they only help investigate crimes against their citizens but they also harass and spy on known political opponents.
The PRC is strongarming educational institutions. Look up the Drew Pavlou case at Queensland University. There are similar reports from New Zealand, Canada and the UK.
I don't think people "in general" refer to games as "solved" or "not solved" at all. Among people who do, chess and go are definitely not referred to as (fully) solved.
"to have a chance against intelligent humans. Until it was solved."
But this was the original statement - so solved references "chance against intelligent humans". And this is clearly solved. No comment on that there cannot be better go engines, but no matter how painful it is, they beat the best humans. (And it was painful, they did cry)
