Shoreline to downtown Seattle is not even close to 1 hour each way by car, maybe 35 mins, if you stretch it. That been said, I feel you, commuting sucks, consider living closer or finding a new gig.
There is plenty of alternative routes, I-5 is a dumb route to take because everyone thinks the same way, you could take aurora avenue, or cross the bridge from ballard, or even the other one close to UW. Google Maps is also wrong all the time btw.
Have you been doing the commute lately? All the routes are bad, it’s just a question of bad or worse. I have to make the drive sometimes and it typically takes 40 min or so just to north Seattle.
Honest question, do any of you actually use this type of multiplayer feature in editors? I have worked on small, medium, large and FAANG(Google and Amazon) companies. Never have I seen anyone, even talking about coding with somebody else in the same editor.
These data centers will be a net loss for people, higher electricity cost, pollution, etc... The idea that if you don't comply with big tech plans, you are being dissuaded by a foreign entity is dumb at best. Simping for billionaires and their plans, won't make you one of them.

There are hundreds of articles showing that China have developed their own chips and have a massive manufacturing capacity. This blog post feels like is pondering to the brain dead Fox News audience.
