Ordinary Russians have NO say in this conflict.

You could face a 15-year prison sentence for calling for peace on social media, or you could be forcibly conscripted.

Furthermore, rallies are equally persecuted. All rallies are outlawed due to the COVID restrictions, and these restrictions have never been lifted.

So far, all the West has done is target ordinary, poor Russians instead of oligarchs and the Tsar himself.

Their quality of life has plummeted, but would you risk your life to speak out against this?

Westerners are only brave in the comments. Come to Russia and show us how it's done. A country where everyone with power or guns serves the Tsar almost directly. Including the courts, the police and the army.

You don't f*cking understand what has happened to the country. It's become a dictatorship.

> You don't f*cking understand what has happened to the country. It's become a dictatorship.

Oh, we westerners know...

There's something sinister or crazy good in the article.

OpenAI already has a model that is at the very least twice as smart as Astra.

Oh god.

They always have and will for the foreseeable future, as will Anthropic and other labs which manage to ascend to the frontier, pretty much by definition. It’s exactly the same with hardware vendors - by the time you can buy the product, the lab is working on something you’ll want to buy a few years from then.

> Oh god.

Yes, a very reasonable reaction.

Does it work with NoScript?

Anthropic has banned me for using Claude via a VPN.

They don't even allow me to download my data.

How is it better?

Good for your personal devices, very not good for servers where you need to have any sort of accountability and security trail.

That’s why you ship the logs off host to a central collector.

Nice in theory in practice you always retain them locally as well, just in case the network connection goes down.

If network egress fails and logs are pushed in real time over a connection with no local backing, you face an ugly tradeoff: either drop log data silently (loss of visibility during the very network partition you need to debug) or apply backpressure to services (potentially hanging applications when logging buffers saturate).

Agreed. That's what the log agent's disk buffer is for. That can still be used even if the journal itself is on volatile storage.

OMFG this thing is fast.

its fast but try to get it to give you pi to 50 decimal places. it didnt go well for me.

I think the same exact model running on CPU-only and RAM, or a small GPU, would do about the same? It's quite an old model now and small, you could throw a GGUF into llama-server or something for a side by side comparison.

As I remember just about any english language model from mid 2024 and earlier didn't even do well if you asked it to count sequentially from 0 to 100, nevermind calculating stuff.

That's not how LLMs work

A truly horrible design, lacking any finesse or style.
