The house looks nice inside but the yard is the size of a postal stamp. This looks like a downtown house and if it was it would be worth 3-5 times as much (10 if you move it to another city). The problem is the area and no yard makes it not desirable at $200,000 and the other issue is people are moving to Austin for the scene/vibe/culture so everyone needs to be downtown where the average home price is over a million. Otherwise you could just move to Des Moines or Oklahoma City where average home prices are $100,000.
Do you really need Fable level 99% of people don't need to solve 600 year old math problems. People use the best model available because they are scared a cheaper model won't be as good but in the end it rarely matters for 99 percentile of coding.
Bad decisions compound over time, so I want my model making as few of them as possible. Opus 5.5 is the current GOAT, and it's fairly affordable on a subscription. (I wish it was cheaper, but nothing else delivers comparable results for my price/time investment.)
The newest model has people go "oh I thought models sucked until THIS one came out." Then when some other company makes a cheaper model that is comparable to it people go "nah this model sucks who would use it over Claude/Openai? Noone can beat them at all because look at this one shot"
This greatly depends on the type of coding you are doing. For easy webdev, sure. For me and my colleagues, LLMs have been quite unhelpful for programming until about five months ago. Mistakes can be devastating, especially at scale. If the simpler stuff works for you, then great. But don't pretend to speak for everyone.
One way would be to generate a new model for every request. Currently we create an entire universe for each step when training if we predetermined what needed to be created it could be much smaller.
It's enough that I knew the two teams playing in the Series, that both teams have never won, and that the progress was looking really good for the Brewers all while not being the type that follows baseball at all.
I believe that the answer is licensing. If a channel or network is not licensed to carry Official MLB Footage, then they are reluctant to report on it or even admit that such a thing exists, lest they inadvertently send viewers off to change channels, and go find the licensee.
A contributing factor is the absolute iron grip on the trademarked terms, such as World Series and Super Bowl, where every media outlet is 100% forbidden under pain of waterboarding, lest they utter these two words in proximity, whether for free or to promote a party or product or gathering event.
So ultimately, you wind up with a media environment where nobody but the licensee is willing to admit that these enormous sporting events exist. Of course, the licensees themselves are sending a firehose of coverage by every available medium, and those who are in-the-know, and wealthy enough to subscribe, are hanging on the every word of ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPN9 with the play-by-play.
You can be sure that my father was watching every pitch and every out from his armchair, until his beloved Padres got left behind, yet again. San Diego Padres are another franchise that has never won a World Series. They are joined in the record books by the Rockies, the Mariners, and of course, the Tampa Bay Rays.
It used to be easy to watch a game; when I was teenager in the 90s, the Indians would air on our local UHF station (channel 43!) and after I'd get home from work around 8 pm, I could usually catch the end of the game with my father before bed. Now it's divided between a variety of cable channels and streaming options.
Many of the elderly people I work with are big Minnesota Timberwolves fans, and they have 0 interest in signing up for DAZN to stream and have cut their cable for cost reasons, so there's no easy way to watch. A few guys I know are Twins fans and listen to the radio for the same reason. Leagues make it hard now.
Then he qualified to say it depends on the unique details of the documentation. I don't think its possible. You have to try all models with effort and compare all or go on reputation or vibes.
