idk how is it that HN articles often match whatever currently obsesses me. I'm going to buy an EV next year and i'm looking for a 2nd hand one exactly in this range.

oh I didn't know about the ID.Polo, i was looking into the ID.3 neo life

apparently those trillions were necessary just to keep the boat staying afloat.

Yeah I never heard of "GDR", and I've visited the DDR museum in Berlin. My grandfather went to work in the DDR and when I was a kid in the 90s I still had all sorts of toys and things like casette recorders from the DDR. Oh man what a blast from the past that museum was.

bro, same

My favorite is chapter 22

Master Tung-kuo asked Chuang Tzu, "This thing called the Way-where does it exist?"

Chuang Tzu said, "There's no place it doesn't exist."

"Come," said Master Tung-kuo, "you must be more specific!"

"It is in the ant."

"As low a thing as that?"

"It is in the panic grass."

"But that's lower still!"

"It is in the tiles and shards."

"How can it be so low?"

"It is in the piss and shit."

I feel like the lesson in many stories like this is to be kind of indifferent, not ask stupid questions, and to not answer stupid questions.

I don't think that's the lesson. It sounds like the "One is all, and all is one" lesson from Fullmetal Alchemist.

I kind of took it to mean that there are no irrelevant facts in the universe. And potentially everything deserves close attention.

you don't need legs to climb stairs, you can have a rotating mechanism with different rows of wheels that have good enough grip, maybe an extruding stick to lift the whole robot up and the wheels move forward... would take a lot fewer joints than pair of legs probably.

If this was awesome, we would have it on wheelchairs. We very rarely do. Stairs are built for legs.

Read the fine print, "non-MCS (mixed criticality systems), unicore"

TUIs would be great if they didn't have to render all text the same size, for me that's the main win with GUIs, you have total freedom with what you can do with your pixels.

I would definitely be pro minimalist unicode-character-themed GUIs for what it's worth. Where every graphical primitive is basically a unicode character, without the restriction on font size.

That's not total pixel freedom, you're still limited to text

Some terminal emulators, for example Kitty, can render text at various sizes (within the same window).

I agree 100%. Pictures or any sort of visual representation of any kind would only diminish the quality of the whole experience.

The fact is, if you're smart enough you can just eyeball raw css and just see it if you close your eyes.

Oh you're not also gifted? Well I guess you're not special enough for this job then. Maybe you should be flipping burgers instead.

Message received loud and clear.

Just to clarify why there aren’t any demos right now: I originally built the site mostly for myself, as a quick reminder for simple things whose syntax is easy to forget.

The use case was simple: I have my editor open, quickly check the site, copy those 2 or 3 lines, and get back to work, already knowing exactly what they do.

Sharing it publicly came later, so demos/screenshots weren’t really part of the original idea.

That said, I’m happy to take the criticism on board, even if I don’t always agree with the delivery :)

I thought the "Private Feedback" field was the demo when I checked the first example which was "Disable a subtree with inert". The css carousel sound very nice, I wish I could have played with an example directly. Thanks for sharing.

Some people need pictures on a menu as well, and will leave 1 star food reviews because of it ;)

Cool site!

I don't leave 1 star reviews in such places, because I don't sit down to eat there to begin with.
