That's the stupidest thing I've ever read. If you think racing to the top produces inefficiency, racing to the bottom (Communism) produces even more, as evidenced by all the samples we have at this point.
I wouldn't scold someone for thinking it, its ok to have floating thoughts. Just don't double down on them and start arguments over the internet with strangers.
There are tons of sex workers that rake in money that even FAANG engineers will never see in 10 lives (e.g OF 'models'). I doubt much of society has any respect for them though.
What gave you that idea that there are tons of them? That's like saying some actors will make more than 10x a FAANG engineer. Sure some.will, but most who go into it will make much less. Based on stats from a OF model agency, less than 1% make more than 10,000 a month. [1].
I have more respect for only fans models then fellow software developers nowadays. At least only fans models produce something others find valuable. We don't provide anything valuable anymore.
Thing is that people don't want to be "freed up" from their comfortable, high-paying jobs. Because then they likely need to return to metaphorical toiling in the field.
I think those are the sactions; the US is upset the ICC put out arrest warrants for Benjamin Netanyahu and his Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. Regardless of what you think about Israel, it's easy to see how they might interpret the ICC's actions as a threat.
Yeah it surely is lack of imagination - not the fact that humans have evolved hundreds of thousands of years to survive in resource constrained environments.
