So much of the world passes us by out of sight

Oh to be a mantis shrimp, have 16 different photoreceptors, and see not only into IR and UV, but the polarization of light too!

Thoughts on whether HE could be further hardware accelerated?

Saving your comment for the Weekend Project idea backlog, if you don't mind :)

Is it inevitable? Still waiting for (also massively invested) Google or Meta competitors at Fable/Opus/Sol levels.

Muse Spark 1.2 benchmarks just shy of Opus/Sol and is significantly less expensive than Sonnet (which admittedly is overpriced). Haven't personally used it though

My brief n=1 test usage was.... not impressive.

But they do seem to be closing the gap with each release!

(Disclaimer: I work for Meta, but nowhere near the Alexandr Wangaverse)

The key to success is the same as it ever was: you buying my Product! Or even better, my Course about how you too can achieve success with your own Product.

Especially considering Flock's API will give you people not just license plates.

The flag for whether the object/person is law enforcement vs not is interesting as well.

Love that, very cool for quickly filtering out the streams / geodata that might have an officer's actions recorded.

Letting the police and government track everyone also seems not ideal. Worse even than letting everyone track everyone.

Yeah, with apologies to the mill which demands more grist, we grew up hearing that if you can't afford children, then you shouldn't have them. And we learned that lesson. Lived it too, from the other side. Our parents couldn't really afford it, and it's tougher now than then, getting tougher still. So it goes.

They want them, but the environment they've shepherded or (more commonly) been swept along with, isn't conducive to having them.

The purpose of a system is what it does. Right now, the system makes it really hard to keep stable work, at high enough pay to either stay with the kids and raise them, or else afford daycare to raise them part-time for you; maintain a safe environment, starter home, all that.

So it goes. One way or another, we've built/voted-in/stumbled-into a system where the younger generations shouldn't have kids now, possibly ever, unless a drastic correction happens to improve the trajectories of their lives.
