I am using DuckDB + Parquet + HTTP range requests for a current project and it's a great combination for data exploration tools that run in the browser.
I did open the thread and didn't see an actual printer shown except the e-ink device but aside from that, I hate printers buy a cartridge it's empty after 3 prints wtf... now I just go walk into some store like Walgreens to print stuff
For me my favorite is the RM2 but I keep selling/buying it back due to poor financial decisions but I love how it writes and long battery, plus hackable, never paid for a subscription. It is an extra device too so unfortunately not used that often I spend most of my time in front of a desktop but have multiple laptops too/drawing tablets.
My 10 year old mono laser printer requires a cartridge very two years or so. This is despite being a lot more heavily used than the average domestic printer.
I got my laserjet secondhand 10 years ago. It was already 10 years old at this time. It's been low on toner since the beginning but shaking the toner cartridge is usually enough to get usable prints the few times a year I need it (return labels, letters). It's a great, reliable device!
Fashion bag. Dock your cell-phone inside, bluetooth pair to the purse (w/ functional receiver + off-hook sensor) and treat that as a siri-enabled headset in a phone w/ fabric coiled cord.
"Ring ring! Hello? Hey Siri, what's the weather and call my ex so I can hang up on them!"
I feel like I would have been a different person if I was diagnosed. Probably finished my physics/aero degree. But idk... I would buy it and it was fun to do recreationally which supposedly means you don't have ADHD. Anyway I ended up not finishing school but I got lucky that I still became an SWE.
People would say "just ask for it" but I remember having to try and do these tests like look at these abstract shapes and what not. It was multiple sessions I eventually ran out of insurance so yeah I just abandoned it. I don't like the side effect of shrinkage down there when you're on uppers.

That’s something some people with ADHD need to hear to be ok with taking what is a powerful drug. A comorbidity of ADHD is substance abuse, and stimulants are very rewarding neuobiologically speaking (because they, especially amphetamine, promote dopamine release and persistence in the reward areas near the brainstem, as opposed to non-stimulants like Strattera which does effect dopamine reuptake but only in the prefrontal cortex, the primary area of impairment in ADHD [it does this by exploiting the fact that the NET is used for Dopamine reuptake exclusively in the PFC]), especially when treated like a recreational substance to be taken freely in a dose designed to be fun.
There is a lot of variety in people with ADHD, but I think that perception is more due to how the drugs work when taken medicinally vs recreationally and individual propensity for abuse.
That's crazy I remember doing work on there a long time ago. It was sus work like manipulating Google SEO rank by looking up and clicking links. But still it was real money even if it was pennies.
I think the weirdest thing I had to do was scan through social media images... so weird seeing into random people's lives.
Funny I don't think there is a fast forward button? guess that's realistic ha
