The only reason why I've decided to pay 500+ (for the first time in my life) for a flagship device was for a better camera and storage, as I wanted to have good quality photos of my kids.

An old Samsung S10 takes stunning pictures. Mid range phones at 300 USD are incredibly good at taking shots.

But our appreciation keep getting skewed because flagship phones make leaps forward.

It's not about releasing models. Consumer market share of chatgpt is still >60%, if not more. Their search engine was hit and as soon as product search starts declining on Google this will be a code red. They're in an extreme nicle and dime mode.

That does work, but it misses out on several of nitter's benefits:

- It requires JavaScript - It is not great for privacy, being behind Cloudflare and having numerous trackers - It is not open-source

There still are alternatives. I don't plan to create an account on X anytime soon. Platformized Internet sucks.
