Oklahoma hasn't threatened to nuke anyone.....yet.

Technically, Oklahoma is on the short list of locations that _have_ detonated a nuclear bomb on their enemies in wartime.

(Not to be contrarian, but I rather thought usa has recently and repeatedly threatened to bomb and nuke countries into stone age... And in fact went significant way through that effort over last few months, to the tune of some $40bil or so, for no clear, consistent, rational, elucidated reason whatsoever. And of course, rather famously, is the only country that actually deployed nuclear weapons against other people).

I don't necessarily disagree with your underlying point mind you, but USA isn't what it used to be internationally, if it ever truly was. "Oklahoma / USA are peaceful, predictable. rational political entities" is a rather laughable point to try to make today :-/

Isn't the US literally the only country to ever use a nuke against humans?

Not Oklahoma but Trump has made nuclear threats from Maryland this summer...

Oklahoma is part of US, and there were several threats! Just a few months ago against Iran!

But they did bomb their own people in the Tulsa Race Massacre

nono the state is the only thing that counts. Not the country the state is in or the cities in the state.

[flagged]

fresh account just for this bitchmade comment lmao. close call, I almost engaged with it earnestly

Lol, also the only use of nuclear weapons in war was over 80 years ago, so I'm not sure what their point even is aside from being a moronic racist

I doubt it helped much directly. The nationwide ring that was dismantled recently was busted partially due to surveillance from a pole mounted camera though. The article title initially baited my rage, but I can plausibly see how LPRC's could be used to track catalytic converter thieves.

(a pole mounted camera for which a warrant had been obtained...)

As it should be.

Jeez, in not normally cynical but the Japanese buyer faced no charges and this has bad optics:

> Janice Ayala joined Dowa Metals & Mining America as their Chief Compliance Officer on March 3, 2023. During Ayala's 27-year tenure at the Department of Homeland Security, her most recent role before joining Dowa was as Director of Joint Task Force – Investigations. This agency oversaw the investigation into both DG Auto Parts and Dowa.

This angle never gets attention in the debate over to kill in theft cases.

`IMO, !$ is most useful of them all (it is the one that gets replaced with the last argument of the last command).`

I've been liking Esc+. for this. It doesn't usually work in browser sessions though, have to do Ctrl+[+. which is a strange feeling 3 finger salute. For some reason I'm able to remember that one rather than !$

Edit: apparently Alt+. does the same, wow.

Optional today, mandatory tomorrow.

Every time I hear about an agent escaping it's sandbox, I just think it must not have been much of a sandbox. Like how hard are they really trying to contain it? Is it just a container host with unpatched flaws, or is it a container, nested in a VM, behind a firewall with no ports open in an air gapped environment? I think they'd prefer it can get out so they can announce it and hype their stock.

Being that LLMs are writing zero days themselves maybe, just maybe, they are a bit better at hacking than you can think.
