There’s a nice feature that will tell you when you could have used a shortcut instead of the manual thing.

In Win95 this worked by writing the shortcut next to the menu item

I was about to mention C#, but I just checked and it’s coming to C# 15 in a couple of months.

C#:

#if DEBUG

    Console.WriteLine("This only compiles and runs in Debug mode.");
#else

    Console.WriteLine("This only compiles and runs in Release mode.");
#endif

Pretty cool, I love when I catch a coworker doing small tricks like this during pairing sessions.

Same feeling about the way he refers to “democratic” and “authoritarian” countries. Even if I don’t agree with China politics adding tags in this context is not helpful.

What bothers me is the last few lines where it notes something "important" that you NEED to pay attention to. Just to find out that it is something you already mentioned somewhere in the conversation or that is not related to the current work.

I find it handy because often I just have to read the last few lines. All the above is usually just confirmation of what I asked.

“Humans have known for thousands of years that there is no objective truth”

Is that objectively true?

No it isn't true. I'm saying so. Is what I said objectively true?

"...and the recommendations are pretty good"

This is so confusing to me, many people say that, but a year ago my wife and I tried to switch to Apple Music. Bad recommendations were the main reason why it didn't stick for us. Every time my children would listen to some kids songs a few minutes later it would start playing "random" songs.

Maybe it's similar to Apple Maps, it works good for the American market, but once you try it in other countries/languages the quality is not the same.

FWIW I'm UK - they did suck when I first switched a few years back but are significantly better now.

You can disable that behavior in the settings.

It's a terrible default. Period.
