Yes. It’s pretty trivial to pivot to, for these non-training/inference roles it’s just building systems where agents are the core implementation detail.

I always assumed it was the down arrow affecting it, but I have always giggled at the fact that people with sharp eyes have to endure the bad posts while others do not

I think that’s true for comments but not posts.

A completely different, non GH controlled status page had to be made to accurately report status for them.

This is the harness’s job. Incentives are not aligned for inference providers to own the harnesses.

I don’t think it’s a stretch to say we want useful innovation

Can you suggest anything? I really don’t understand the demand.

To me making steady progress on well designed core products is very useful.

Personally I’d love better multitasking on my phone which is why the duo is attractive.

I can sit here and think of things, but I am not a multi trillion dollar company. If I could come up with the next big thing that helps people, I would be capitalizing on that skill already not sitting around on HN

yes but are you also semi retired half company? apple today is semi retired, they update some sure like M cpu and macbooks but rest is retired inside company and literally too old to innovate. Look at so many products they have. Updates are just too little

The people who made Apple what it is today are long gone. The planks have been fully replaced

What they are today is the only vertical computer company left from the 1980s. Who else is there today at scale?, Apple is in a very good position in comparison to most of the competition. Apple need only to solve the memory problem.

That is actually more important, because just recently one of the members of the three-headed cartel said/reiterated again that (memory gouging) is going to last till 2030 and beyond.

They explicitly call that out and mention if folks want to use it for paid projects, to just reach out. Thats a caveat obviously, but the intentions seem noble

It seems very likely that they are looking at cratering usage statistics and panicking.

This is (would be) a convincing signal of ai adoption. Worth pondering I think.

It’s a shape that gained adoption and so now everyone is jumping into that solution space instead of innovating.

We are due for another innovator that adds a net new, valuable facet to the development experience soon.

Waymo’s feel so so so much safer when walking and biking around. They actually give you priority.

I am now so Waymo-pilled that if all crossing directions are oncoming Waymos I will simply cross between them, regardless of their green signals. Works in SF; may not apply in your locale.

Yep, I don’t have to worry at all, it’s so refreshing
