To add on to this for the SD card, you can buy an “SD card extender” that has an SD card on one end and a slot on the other, with a cable in between. Something like that might make it physically easier to get in between the signals by modifying the cable. Nice big wires on this one: https://a.co/d/0cPVVsLE

I bet we'll see more KVM-for-X type products appearing, basically multiplexers for various storage devices and peripherals, as ways of giving agents control over them.

Yeah it’s probably both at once though. At least my experience has been that spending some time away from alcohol made the negative effects more apparent, and simultaneously, time marches on, making the negative effects more pronounced.

One specific example: device attestation and Web Environment Integrity, combined with the internet being increasingly controlled or mediated by a handful of middlemen who would absolutely love to turn this on (Cloudflare, Apple, Google, etc) but if they do it too early there’ll be revolt.

It’s had a couple attempts that got shot down so far, but the pushback gets weaker as time goes on, and as the troublesome/less-compliant generations age out and get replaced by generations who’ve grown up accepting this stuff as the water they swim in.

Recently bothered by the Amazon Alexa for Shopping thing that slides out constantly and can’t be turned off, I found this Chrome extension.

Thank you, I've added this suggestion for Chrome/Firefox

Cloudflare could be the end of the open web and it seems crazy that more people aren’t worried about this.

Turnstile everywhere + device attestation required is the direction this all seems to be headed. Because of all the AI bots of course (it is an excellent scapegoat).

It's pretty safe to say that most people don't know what cloudflare does, if they even know that it exists.

Pretty sure most people have seen their page at least once, so they know, Cloudflare is what they see if nothing is working (because the actual server is overloaded).

I wonder how much similarity there is between this and what people describe from awakening experiences.
