I tried playing the monster mash on YouTube tonight. It played two ads then started the song but the video had a weird ai avatar performing. It played for five seconds then started playing another ad.
Besides Ireland and parts of the UK Halloween traditionally hasn't been a thing in Europe and some people are adamantly against it being celebrated. But here in Switzerland in the recent years it's become the night where teenagers/students go out late and vandalize and be nuisances, start fires, etc.
This year it's on a Saturday and there's also general unrest with frequent protests (Israel/Palestine, Kurds, students, etc etc etc) so it's probably going to be worse than usual.
I got a ticket for that once! It was 2am and there was no one else on the road, and the cop was so mad that I passed the field sobriety test and was stone sober. Had to come up with something, I guess.
I use ai as I program every day and I find it useful. I also use it for tech support for myself and my home server. The other day I used it to make some changes in my server and I felt like I accomplished tons. But when I thought about it in the evening I realized I could have got it done with less time if I had just read some documents - the ai advice was often out-of-date and I notice that while programming too - for example, I use the spring-ai framework which has changed massively between versions and the ai always gives old advice....
So on average I would say I'm getting about as much work done now as before ai.
I've been throwing it at a homelab as well as I don't have to worry about production stuff and can revert snapshots fine.
Until the agents decide to start messing with snapshots.
It can help if you can't remember where something is, but then you'll never learn so I try to action everything myself, but again agents like to just blab on constantly and overstep.
I found I was doing bulk changes etc with it, seemed helpful until I realised I could just use dsh as Ive done in the past and basically do the same thing with way less resources and more consistency.
To be fair the Executive Branch in the last 50 years seems to look at the Congresses' laws more as "recommendations that could be ignored if we really want to" and this would have been a perfect case to do so.
From the article it's not clear if the problem with the drug-sniffing dogs is false-positives or false-negatives. So don't start hiding your drugs in vegemite just yet.
I'm just bitching....
