> His policies are socialist.

Depends on how one defines "socialist"

> Some of us still perceive that as a bad thing.

Then what's wrong with you? Look at other first world countries.

All this "socialism bad" bullshit needs to stop. It has no basis in reality.

That’s totalitarian communism. Parent is talking about social democracy with a larger safety net. I’m not aware of gulags in the Netherlands or Sweden but maybe I haven’t looked hard enough.

I was just in here a while ago calling leftist class war stuff conspiracism BTW, so I’m equal opportunity.

Just so much bullshit everywhere. We’d have a much better discourse if words meant things and if we could toss the hyperbole and the conspiracy theories from all sides.

I agree, and I am also a centrist, but to say “socialism bad” has “no basis in reality” is wrong.

tired of you

I see both a lot of left and right criticism of Israel on YouTube, and yeah, on the left it's all about Israel's actions and policies specifically, and often Zionism as an ideology, and the criticism is often lodged by left-leaning Jews.

On the right, certainly the comments sections at least definitely feature some pretty alarming bigoted tropes--the comments explicitly make the jump from being about Israel to being about "the Jews". One could definitely make the same argument about some of the content, though most of it definitely seems to fall short of where the viewers want it to in this regard.

This kind of thing is pretty standard, and you accordingly come across as rather boorish.

But it is generally referred to as "creative non-fiction", and I agree it can often be overdone.

Could it be Silicon Valley's favorite without those attributes?

I haven't seen Stanford abuse grey areas of the law yet, SV still has some value to add on to the behaviors that Stanford teaches!

With the current elites of SV, it doesn't seem to be very accidental to me neither.

You are trying to pick a fight with a post that isn't making the point you assume it is. All that guy is saying is that there is a rush to build them, which is objectively true.

Whether or not the datacenters return on the investment is a different question.

There's a demand for data centers, but maybe not a demand for actual usages of the data centers. That's the distinction I think they were trying to make by pointing to existing data centers not even being used to full capacity in-house (and being rented out instead).
