why would Nvidia try to compete against their biggest customers - openai and anthropic ?

the power that giveth can also taketh away.

similar to how eventually AWS started making their own chips for data centers, and Apple did that for their hardware, it's not a ridiculous thing to plan for the AI companies to start making their own chips to optimize for their use cases and cut out the middleman for margins.

Dog fooding their own product. This isn’t new for Nvidia. For a long time they have been selling GPU cards, and also licensing the chips for other manufacturers to make their own cards. Similar for their automotive products, Shield, and DGX Spark.

So that nvidia gets bargaining power...? Nvidia needs to diversify its customer base

nvidia invests $1 in AI company , datacenters with GPUs , AI company / datacenters buy $x worth of GPUs from NVIDIA , in a circle

Isn't vendor financing a common business practice to finance the cost of equipment? What makes it nefarious in this instance?

Because it isn't a simple loan, and the value of the equipment itself as collateral is highly doubtful anyways.

Nvidia is investing in their customers by buying their stock. Nvidia is directly buying compute from their customers. Nvidia is making "if you can't find a customer, we'll take all of your capacity" deals. Nvidia is making a ton of fake huge-number deals which are supposed to be realized over time but most likely never will.

They are doing everything they can to make that customer look like a healthy and valuable business which everyone should invest in and loan money to - which in turn flows directly back to Nvidia to buy GPUs and boost their revenue. They are essentially creating sockpuppets to keep external money flowing in so they can keep the money printer running.

> On top of that, they added records to resolve unknown names for advertising purposes.

doubt

Why Mozilla in particular ? Or its that just what you like ?

Gecko is the only semi-mainstream browser engine that isn't controlled by Google.

Webkit is not controlled by Google and powers Safari as well as some smaller browsers and many other applications.

Safari doesn't run on Windows or Linux. WebKit does run outside of Apple's environment but no major browser uses it which means you are left Firefox, a Blink based browser or a WebKit browser that 5 people use.

Safari runs on many, many millions of various Apple devices though, and I think that more than qualifies it as a major/mainstream browser, and the same for Webkit as a mainstream engine... especially considering Safari's market share is ~5x higher than Firefox. You may disagree though, and that's ok.

great now we will have slop , just not vibed slop

step 1 buy openwrt hardware accelerated NAT compatible device

step 2 throw the mikrotik in the garbage
