Which modeling kernel does it use?

From their Github, it looks like OpenCascade with Manifold for mesh boolean that they are calling MEDUSA.

Changelog notes seem to hint at MEDUSA, though I've never heard of that particular one. Definitely going to give it a try, always up for more browser based CAD options!

The Release page has:

>Download the Source code ZIP below and extract it. It includes the application, its libraries and the OpenCASCADE WASM/data files.

What do you understand by “technical communication”?

Stay on 27.0 or upgrade to 27.0.1?

TL;TR they want people to use Copilot

> It is a research bench, not a ROM: a session lasts a given number of seconds, then the kernel returns to the loader and hands over its log.

I wonder if it is here because Claude would deploy safeguards and not proceed with the project otherwise.

> a session lasts a given number of seconds, then the kernel returns to the loader and hands over its log.

What does this? You can only 'use the device' for x seconds before ..shutting down?

Sometimes a watch dog, if you don't poke the correct thing regularly the system can think there's been a crash.

Is this why Doom is so portable?

yes

Recently, whole Adobe suite was recreated with AI[1]. Is there such an initiative in CAD world?

That was discussed here:

https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49960138

there have been a lot of free CAD tools being developed (many of them posted about here), but no one seems to have tried the traditional interactive interface approach w/o at least a text-based layer. My suspicions on this would be:

- adding the text-based description allows using an LLM to create models

- Fusion 360 and OnShape have taken up most of the oxygen in the room for '"free" traditionally interactive CAD'

- the UI is _hard_ --- poster child for this see the marketing for Plasticity XYZ (which seems to be a derivation of Moment of Inspiration 3D)

Maybe that’s the Great Filter?

An interesting theory. Intelligence tends towards entropy in the absence of exciting stimuli. Maybe life on Earth has just been so besieged over the eons that it has forced us to progress to where we are. Once we reach [Wall-E levels of comfort and abundance,](https://corporalculture.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/walle...) we're doomed. Maybe we're already seeing this with the fertility crisis.
