Tangentially-related: When YouTube auto-dubs now, I noticed that Spanish language get dubbed in a Spanish-inflected accent, and French language similarly (I think).
Is it likely that they are using a model like this? Or are they actually trying to voice clone the original and then translate to English? I'm not even sure if the few Spanish-accented English auto-dubs I've heard are the same voice or not.
(Actually, that reminds me of growing up in Italy, where for a long time all English movies were shown dubbed, not subtitled, and they had the same lead male voice for all male leads, and the same lead female voice for all female leads, across every movie. I can still hear those voices in my head now thirty years later...)
I was expecting a solo site where you have to think about something you're grateful for, and I was like, meh, I've seen that before, I'm just not interested.
But then seeing everyone else's birds really lit something up inside of me. Someone was happy because they saw the fog burn off in the morning sun. Someone was happy because their cat fell asleep in their guitar box while listening to them play. I genuinely felt happy for their happiness.
I will bookmark this site, and hope people (and I) keep adding to it.
The seller was performing the unnecessary procedures and the practice value was based on that revenue. The buyer was ethical and therefore revenue was lower than expected.
Since this project (both yours and OP's) seem more for personal fulfillment and enjoyment, I wonder who got more enjoyment out of the process, and also who will remember the results better in ten years.
One is a toy. Created on a whim, it will end up in the bin with other toys. They might pick it up and paw at it later, stir up some memories, and then put it back.
One is art. When completed, they can look at it and be reminded of the journey of creation, a labor of love. It could be put away, or displayed for all to enjoy.

How is this not applicable to both things? This just reads as gatekeeping to me.
The amount of time or effort put into something does not determine its value.
The amount of time and effort a human put into something very much does tend to determine its value, both to that human and others in their social circle.
> The amount of time or effort put into something does not determine its value.
It literally does, not only in art. Is not the only factor, yet is definitely one of them. In many objects, the version with 'more human effort' is more expensive.
The writing definitely felt try-hard, especially at the start where the first few chapters seem really obscure by design.
Also, while I enjoyed the philosophy, as someone who has also read all of Oliver Sacks's books and took several philosophy of mind courses in college, it really felt like he just wanted to put in every cool Oliver Sacks-ian case study he had ever read.
But they were also added in without much context. In my book club (of intelligent people) I had to re-explain nearly all of them, e.g. the blindsight scene (from which the title comes from) is practically the entire thesis, but if you haven't heard of it before you can miss it.
I'm curious. I could kind of see that being fun, but I could also see 1 person moving with 79 standing still, and two players who get to make all the decisions. Did you guys modify the rules?
Very little standing still. Everyone is running around. It's a bit like capture the flag, except when you tag someone you compare index cards to see who is higher rank.
Ask vs Guess culture. Look it up, it explains a lot.
Coming from a very WASPy family, I am very much in the Guess culture -- for a long time I wouldn't dream of inviting myself over somewhere -- but I genuinely think taking some cues from Ask culture people makes a lot of things easier and more sociable.
I'm from the south (US Southeast) and I would never invite myself over, but I've been to hang outs at the vast majority of my friends' places. On this topic it's barely even guess culture here - more like assume! We're still a very sociable culture, we're just a somewhat high-context one. For example, we had a friend who never invited us over despite dozens of hangouts at our place and others. We always wondered why he didn't view us as real friends. It's an expectation for close friendships here, even if you've just got a studio or place you share with roommates. Just part of knowing each other.
Which is just the definition of a half moon (technically called a quarter moon). Which is why it's really weird to be asking "what if a full moon were at 90⁰ from you compared to the sun?"
Indeed, ideally you'd point it at the only path that is pointing straight towards Japan. No other path actually points towards Japan (except the one going in the opposite direction, but that's longer).
