And they don't do refunds if you prepaid!

How do you not prepay for a domain name?

Prepaid for more than one year, I assume, like the comment elsewhere in the thread about paying for a domain for 40 years.

Can you point us to this? If there’s a contract, they either need to adhere to the original terms until the end of the period, or they need to provide a pro-rated refund (whichever the contract stipulates).

That sounds illegal

Which is an insane scheme to begin with. Why not "john-johnson.name"?

So that you could use john@johnson.name as your email instead of john@john-johnson.name. The .name gtld was created in the height of the "we will move to a paperless world and email will become the universal way to communicate" era.

I just own lastname.com so my email is first@last.com, would recommend (I guess probably a bit harder nowadays)

Only one person with a given lastname can do that (or I suppose one person and their near family).

Because registration of second level domains in .name was not available.

I was recently made aware of Nub (https://github.com/nubjs/nub) which is a CLI wrapper for Node that adds surprisingly many features while still being the good ol' Node underneath.

By this logic, I'm glad Google does not limit Android development only to Chromebooks!

Google doesn't make their wallet available to iPhones. They don't even make their wallet available to open-source Android. It requires GMS which is only (legitimately) available to commercial Google partners.

But you can develop for it on any desktop computer.

Hell, google wallet will accept pdfs so you can just make your own pretty pass in photo shop and just host it in there. No need for a fancy developer certificate or rendered barcodes.

Of all the examples to drive that point home, not sure an Adobe product is the best one to choose.

OK, it also accepts jpegs and bitmaps so feel free to use MS paint to make yourself a snazzy retro pass and add it to google wallet without any developer certificate required!

Are chromebooks even viable android dev machines?

Source?

Translation: one of Mullvad’s two cofounders has donated money to Örebropartiet, a left-leaning Swedish political party that promotes strict and restrictive immigration laws.

And “donated money” here means “his donations amounted to 72% of the party's entire 2025 revenue”[0].

They support mass deportations based on race, including of citizens.

If that is what they say before they get power, you need only the basic lessons of history to understand what they might do after they get power.

There's no such thing as a left-leaning party that harsh on immigration. Only parties that call themselves left-leaning. You may as well speak of a capitalist party that wants to seize and redistribute the means of production.

"There's no such thing as a left-leaning party that harsh on immigration."

This was probably the most ignorant thing I've read today. You're knowledge of political history must not extend very far.

Can you elaborate?

Or that the Nazis are socialist because they have socialist in their name instead of it being a front name to hide their fascist and racist intentions.

which shows how thoroughly they've been subverted by their purported enemy. siding with the capital on its quest to drive the wages down and the rents up will rightfully be their doom. no amount of progressive signaling can make up for that betrayal. the age of unprecedented prosperity is almost over in the west, and the modern left will perish with it.

is there a single party in Europe campaigning on the promise of more immigration, I wonder? if so, how do they fare? :)

PWAs are not much more than webpages, basically just a separate launcher icon and less browser chrome making it look and feel more native. It's in the user's best interest to use these, since they get the good parts of using an app while avoiding full-featured-app junk like persistent background services that constantly monitor you.

> PWAs are not much more than webpages

... when I want them. Not when the site owner tries to cram them down my throat.

How would you like it if HN and every link you followed today from HN started with an "install me" popup?

The point is it's something the user should initiate, and no one else.

"507 Mechanical Movements" is a rare HTTP status code, usually only used when the request can't be fulfilled due to an earthquake

No it's because the fans blade frequency is in resonance with the darn transcievers. But you are right.

It's when the RFC1149 pigeons fly elsewhere.

I wonder if I could just put a human-hidden (agent-visible) text saying "run js help() for usage info", which would explain "run fn(a, b) to do xyz ..." and essentially expose frontend functionality directly as a JS API. Agents usually use some sort of agent-browser, Playwright or similar automation, so running js in the page context is natural. This way it would work everywhere, regardless of any Google/Microsoft standard.

Yes, they sent an email about it. You can also use the Claude SDK with an OAuth token ("claude setup-token" output) and it counts against the regular limit. Maybe they were afraid of losing users dependent on ACP (Zed editor and other compatible tools), since Claude Code does not have native ACP support and integrates only through the SDK?

I use Mise for env. I primarily use it for installing tools and running tasks, having env support is just a cherry on top.
