What active role? The far right is surging all over Western countries because the post-WW2 liberal, progressive, multicultural order has completely failed.

Honestly, I hate to tell you this, but the Germans have a whole track record of this fascism malarkey. I'm sure Vlad is pleased as punch, and definitely nudging it along, but if the influence was quite so impactive it would also be a lot more visible.

That is clearly what is happening here. This is well known in Germany, and they are even kinda fighting internally over how much display of sympathy for Russia is proper to show publicly.
