Homeless people aren’t starving in America. (I volunteer at our nearby homeless facilities, where I’m proud my region maintains a 100% service rate - nobody who needs a place to stay is turned away, through a network of shelters, halfway houses, group homes, and subsidised market vouchers.)

In addition, they’re all eligible for government food assistance which is quite generous. In my experience, though, many people sell off their food benefits for drugs. So that’s a problem.

No, it sounds like market socialism, which has absolutely nothing to do with communism.

Communism did not distribute food benefit cards that functioned like cash that could be used in lieu of cash at any store that sold food.
