is doomscrolling actually net bad for you? it seems that younger generations (gen alpha) spend disproportionately more time doomscrolling / being iPad kids, but they also seem significantly smarter than older generations.

this might be the correlation causation fallacy, but it seems to me that combining micro-pieces of reality though a continual stream might actually have net positives on information.

They seem or they are? In many places, statistically, they're actually NOT smarter. It's the other way around.

must be availability bias on my end.

still though - newer generations must get smarter because the cumulative knowledge of society increases with time.

to your articles, i don't know if test scores on reading and math are necessarily good measures of intellect
