Does he still have Trumps ear? A year ago he could have probably changed Trumps mind on some issues, but he seems to have fallen out of favor and I'm not sure how far. (it wouldn't be unusual for a friend to publicly appear distant but still have soft power)
Musk was the only figure that heard reconciliatory rhetoric from Trump/Vance after their spat. Perhaps because knowing how instrumental he was to bringing them into power they realize how detrimental he can be as the enemy.
