What I meant was Jobs paid to buy his way to the front of wait-lines, in states he was non-resident (including Tennessee), for a replacement body part (liver); every Tennessean he eventually $"cut"$ had to wait longer (or die) for their turns to receive transplants.

Jobs died while I worked for Texas' body farm... his "liver line cutting" was big news; my own institution eventually found itself in an unrelated (and much bigger!) bodyparts trafficking scandal (look up "selling Texas bodyparts scandal" circa 2020) [†].

There's lots of money in used bodyparts.

To be quite literal: the majority of Americans are worth more dead than alive (considering 70%+ live paycheck-to-paycheck)...
